Lactation Accommodation Policy

The Company provides a reasonable amount of break time to accommodate an employee desiring to express breast milk for your infant child. The break time must, if possible, run concurrently with any break time already provided to you such as paid rest period(s) and/or unpaid meal period(s). You may request additional break time to lactate but any additional break time that does not run concurrently with your authorized rest period(s) are unpaid. You must arrange with your supervisor to take additional time to express breast milk at a different time than your authorized rest period(s).

Non-exempt employees should clock out for any time taken that does not run concurrently with normally scheduled rest period(s) if the rest period will be longer than a net 10 minutes provided for authorized rest period(s).

The Company will make reasonable efforts to provide you with the use of a room or other location, other than a toilet stall or bathroom, in close proximity to your work area, for you to express milk in private. The room or location may include the place where you normally work. If the requested break time seriously disrupts the Company’s business operations, the Company may not be able to provide you with break time to lactate.

You do not need to submit any documentation regarding your need to express breast milk. You must provide your own lactation equipment.

Employee Time Record Notice . If for any reason you are not able to take an adequate lactation break and/or a place to express milk, you must advise your supervisor or the Human Resources Manager in writing immediately; it will otherwise be presumed that you were provided all needed lactation breaks and a place to express milk. You must complete the form entitled “Employee Time Record Notice” immediately and submit it to the Human Resources Manager whenever you are unable to take a lactation break in accordance with this policy
