What’s Included and How It Works
Cloud Connect Backup protects servers, workstations, virtual machines and Microsoft 365 data under one retention and recovery policy. Deployment connects to an existing Veeam installation and takes about ten minutes. No additional onsite hardware is required.
What gets protected
Full server and virtual machine images, file and folder data, application data, and Microsoft 365 across Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Image-level backups restore an entire machine. File-level backups restore a single document without touching anything else.
How backups run
Backups run on a set schedule – nightly, with shorter intervals available for transaction-heavy systems. The first backup is a full copy. Every backup after that captures only what changed, which keeps the backup window short and the network impact low. Retention is configurable and set to 14 days by default.
Where copies are stored
One copy stays onsite for fast restores. One copy goes offsite to Xobee-owned storage co-located in top tier data centers with redundant power and three-factor physical security. One copy is immutable, meaning it cannot be altered or deleted, including by an administrator account or by ransomware operating with stolen credentials. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with AES-256 on self-encrypting NetApp drives.
Recovery testing
SureBackup starts each backup in an isolated environment and verifies it boots and responds before it is marked recoverable. This is the “0” in 3-2-1-1-0. A backup that has never been tested is an assumption, not a recovery plan.
What a restore looks like
Xobee confirms what was lost and how far back to go, whether it’s a single file or a full server. Recovery time depends on the size of the data set and the scope of the failure. Targets are agreed in advance rather than discovered during an outage.
Monitoring and reporting
Every job is monitored. Failed and missed backups raise an alert for Xobee staff to act on, so a silent failure does not sit undiscovered until the day a restore is needed.
